Girl shot by 4-year-old brother in freak accident dies

A 6-year-old Georgia girl shot last week by her 4-year-old brother in a freak accident has died.
Millie Drew Kelly and her brother were in a car in the family’s driveway in Dallas, Ga., on Monday waiting to leave for the boy’s baseball game when the car wouldn’t start and the mom got out to see what was wrong, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
That’s when the boy discovered the gun in the center console. The mother was still outside the car when the child fired a fatal shot into the right side of his sister’s head, according to the paper.
Millie, who was rushed to an Atlanta-area hospital, died on Wednesday.
The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office said it will not pursue charges.
“It’s just a really sad situation,” Sgt. Ashley Henson said Saturday. “Just based on all the evidence and the entire situation, we felt like charges were not warranted in this particular case.”
GoFundMe page started to help the Kelly family has raised $34,935 in four days.
“Millie Drew gave life today by donating her organs to continue to show the love of Jesus, whom she loved with everything that she had,” the fundraiser organizer wrote.
