Bizarre Kobe Bryant mural removed after social media mockery

A bizarre Kobe Bryant mural was removed in Indiana after fans ridiculed its rendering of the NBA legend, according to a report.

The crude rendering of the Lakers legend appeared outside of a gas station Indianapolis after the athlete died in a helicopter crash last month in Calabasas, California, Black Indy Live reported.

Photos of the mural on social media show Bryant with his face contorted and a hefty amount of underarm hair — and fans tore into the artwork online.

“Face is terrible, armpit jungle is terrible and jersey wide,” wrote one Facebook user.

Another fan, who shared a photo of the mural, slammed the unidentified artist, saying “you killed Kobe all over again.”

After the wave of criticism, the mural appeared to have been painted over this week, although the reason for its removal remains unclear, Black Indy Live reported.

Since the athlete’s death, a number of memorials and tributes have sprung up across the world, including outside the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where he played for 20 years.

Byrant, 41, and his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, were among nine who died in the helicopter crash Jan. 26.
