Woman and 3 children found shot dead in Michigan house

A woman and three children were found shot dead in a home in Michigan on Monday, police said.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to the home in Cedar Springs, about 30 miles north of Grand Rapids, after someone discovered the bodies and called 911.

“Certainly a horrific thing to be called to and my heart goes out to the families involved here and the community,” Kent County Sheriff Michelle LaJoye-Young told reporters.

“We’re certainly going to do everything we can to bring this to a quick resolution.”

Authorities said they do not believe a suspect is at large and are probing whether the shooting was a murder-suicide, LaJoye-Young said.

The children were elementary school-aged and younger, WOOD-TV reported. Authorities didn’t say how or if the victims were related.

Five members of a Texas family — including a 15-month-old girl — were found shot to death on a Texas property last week.
