Injured Madonna cancels 8th show on world tour with just 45 minutes’ notice

Madonna canceled her latest concert with just 45 minutes’ notice — the eighth show scrapped on her Madame X world tour, according to a report Monday.
Ticketholders were sent an email at 7:45 p.m. Sunday that the Material Girl would not be performing in Portugal’s capital, Lisbon, where she was due to take the stage just 45 minutes later, the BBC said.
“Sorry I had to cancel tonight but I must listen to my body and rest!!” the star said later on Instagram. She gave no explanation for the cancellation but instead shared a clip of her onstage in the city the previous night.
Not all fans were understanding.
“Bitch. She canceled,” one said while giving the middle finger in a video that garnered more than 1,400 views. “If she is not capable of handling this tour life, it is time to STOP and ADAPT,” the fan wrote.
It is the eighth canceled show on the tour, the BBC said — including last October’s scheduled Brooklyn Academy of Music show that was nixed for a knee injury.
Late last year, she blamed “indescribable” pain for scrapping a gig in Miami, saying she feared “irreversible damage” if she performed.
Last week, she was wearing knee braces in a video she posted to Instagram.
“How an injured Madame warms up for a show … very carefully!” she captioned the vid.
Madonna is due to return to the Lisbon Coliseum on Tuesday night for the last three days of her residency there, writing on her Instagram post, “See you on Tuesday fingers crossed 🤞🏼
